            The Las Vegas 51s bats finally came alive in Thursday’s finale with Sacramento, but the team still took an 8-7 loss to the River Cats to get swept out of town. 51s starter Robert Gsellman was sent down for this start so he could work on his stuff over about 100 pitches and not worry about the results, which, unfortunately for Las Vegas, got ugly. The 51s battled all the way back for a 9^th inning tie after Gsellman left, but then the River Cats won on a walkoff in the bottom half anyway.

            The Las Vegas 51s dropped a third straight game in Sacramento Wednesday night as they took a 6-1 loss to the River Cats. It was the second straight night that the 51s managed just one run, and this time they managed just four hits against a quartet of River Cats pitchers. Recently promoted John Mora had half of those four Las Vegas hits, and they both went for doubles. The game was over by the time they entered, but Tom Gorzelanny, Neil Wagner, and Alberto Baldonado each contributed a scoreless inning of work to keep this a five-run game.
