Post-game recap: Recent import from the Long Island Ducks Mickey Jannis made his organizational debut for the St. Lucie Mets Sunday in Fort Myers, throwing a very solid start, but getting little support from his new teams offense. Jannis is potentially interesting as a knuckleballer who hit 86-90 with his fastball during Sunday’s start, although his knuckleball was a little too wild for him during his debut. His wildness loaded the bases in the 1^st, as he hit Alex Swim and then walked Mitch Garver in the frame, and then the Miracle took a 1-0 lead on a sac fly. Fort Myers would load the bases again with one out in the 3^rd, and again they’d settle for one run from a sac fly. The Mets tied things up in the 4^th behind the red hot Victor Cruzado, who hit a two run bomb 361 feet (it was 101 MPH off the bat per trackman). The game remained tied until the 7^th, when Cruzado led off with a walk and then scored on 3 straight sacrifices: sac bunt/E1, sac bunt, sac fly. Matt Oberste picked up a sac fly in the 8^th to give the Mets an inurance run, but it wouldn’t be enough for Robert Coles. Coles was even wilder than Jannis, walking two of the first three batters in the frame to load the bases (there was a leadoff single). Marcus Knecht would tie the game with a two run single to LF , but Coles was still in danger. He’d intentionally walk the next batter to put a force at every base, but that backfired when a wild pitch brought home the go-ahead run for Fort Myers. Jeff Glenn reached on a one out single in the 9^th, and then Amed Rosario finally resurfaced as a pinch runner – Rosario has been missing time ‘with a little bit of a hand issue’. Champ Stuart followed with his second double of the game, but it was a ground-rule double, so Rosario had to stop at 3B - Rosario had easily scored, but the ump ruled that the ball bounced and then deflected off the foul poll and back into play. Ruiz and McNeil followed, but neither could get Rosario home from 3B, and the loss put St. Lucie back under .500.

Post-game recap: The star of this game was easily the star of the night for the minors system, as Brandon Brosher came through with the bases loaded twice, providing most of the Cyclones offense on Seinfeld night at MCU Park Kramerica Industries Ballpark. Brosher would get his first chance after the Cyclones loaded the bases in the 1^st on 2 singles and a HBP. He came through with his second homerun in as many days for Brooklyn, and the grand salami put Brooklyn up 4-0. Cyclones starter Jose Celas was wild all night, throwing less than 50% strikes as he issued 6 walks. The 2^nd inning was the only frame without a walk from Celas, but he’d allow a leadoff double, and then an RBI single. Williamsport got another run back in the 4^th thanks to his wildness, as he hit a batter, threw a wild pitch, and then walked the last batter he’d face before Canelon took over. The first batter against Canelon reached on an infield single to load the bases, and then the Cyclones traded a run for an out on a grounder to 3B. Canelon would be great after that, allowing just a pair of singles. These two have piggybacked two straight starts, and Canelon has the early edge on taking over the starters role. In the 6^th, Brosher would walk and then score on a sac fly from Kaupe to make it a 5-2 game. Then their 7^th inning rally put this game out of reach. Zabala and Siena led off with walks, and then a single to LF from Thompson loaded the bases. After Diehl struck out, Brosher got his second bases loaded chance, and this time he cleared the bases with a double. Ruben Reyes would replace Canelon in the 9^th and work around a leadoff single as he finished the game. The Cyclones have now outscored Williamsport 11-2 in this series, after the Crosscutters came into the series with a 13-1 record.

Post-game recap: The K-Mets bats woke up late to back a great start from Audry German in the series opener against Greeneville. German was fantastic for Kingsport, allowing a pair of runs in the 4^th, but then retiring 12 of the final 13 batters he’d face before Joe Shaw came in for the save. Aaron Mizell hit a leadoff triple against German in the 4^th, and then came home on an RBI groundout from the next batter. German picked up the second out of the inning, but then allowed a double and RBI single before finally ending the frame with a strikeout. Santo Marte led off the 6^th with a walk to become just the third Kingsport batter of the night, and then Dash Winningham tied things up with a bomb to RF three batters later. Kingsport took the lead thanks to a pair of two out hits in the 7^th – Knight doubled, Rojas singled him to 3B, and he scored on a balk. They added a pair of insurance runs with two outs in the 8^th, as Patrick Mazeika hit his second bomb as a pro. Shaw allowed a pair of singles to start the 9^th, but then retired the next 3 to pick up his second save as a pro.

Minors MVP of the Day – Brandon Brosher is a catcher that Brooklyn manager Tom Gamboa has described as having 'Mike Piazza-type power,' and he had a Piazza-type performance for the Cyclones Sunday night.

Minors Cy of the Day – With some better defense behind him, John Gant might've done enough to win this, but tough to pass on the 8 strong innings from Audry German, even if it was a rookie ball start.
